Gear Coasters by Scott Sullivan
Inspired by the geometry of well-crafted metal gears, Scott offers these coasters in a stylish wooden case. Very impressive when entertaining your fellow motorheads.
Gear patterns vary from coaster to coaster but all are within 3.5” to 4.25” inches in diameter. Felted bottoms pick up the condensation from drinks. They also work well as table trivets for that deep-dish 5-meat casserole. Arg arg arg!

About Scott Sullivan:
From the back seat of the car as the steel mills flew past the window on trips to Chicago, designer Scott Sullivan was always fascinated with the mechanized shapes, the rust and the decaying steel. Later on, while building furniture in the city he began riding his bike around the old industrial sites and warehouses. Imagining ways in which the old parts could be brought back to life. He began looking for pieces, and in his travels happened upon an assortment of broken down transmission parts. From this, the idea for aut0matik was born.
Currently a vehicle for his increasingly varied lamp design and tabletop items, he is moving toward incorporating these materials into his furniture work, mixing reclaimed pieces with original designs.
